Gonzalo Ettlin was born in Colonia Suiza, Uruguay in 1982.

After finishing his secondary studies in 2001, he moved to Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay.

He attended 2 years to a Degree in Computer Engineering. In 2004, working at Radio Imparcial, he attended to the School of Social Communication and Graphic Design - UTU - Uruguay`s Work University, specializing in Advertising.

In 2005 he began to study photography. In 2006, he studied Creativity Accounts and Planner, at the "Brother" Creativity School. In 2007 he studied Camera and Camera Assistance, at the Uruguayan Film School (ECU).

The link between Radio and Photography led him attend to the Bachelor of Communication Studies (FIC), U.D.E.L.A.R. in Montevideo, 2007, with a background in film history, aesthetics of image and sound.

He took several courses in photography, scriptwriting, conducting, managing and organization of cultural animation projects.

In 2009, he took the course of Assistant Director (AD) in the Uruguayan Film School (ECU), dictated by Sergio De León. He has worked in film and publicity since 2007. Quite a big variety of roles: location manager, producer, assistant director and director. He has worked in short films, feature films documentaries, tv and music videos.

He currently lives between Madrid and Montevideo, dedicated to Production, Direction and Freelance Assistance Direction, in Cinema, Advertising and Music Videos.

He experiences in the Audiovisual in a fresh and fun way, always attentive to the aesthetic and cultural changes. He loves music and cinema.
